John Butler Trio | Preview

My summer of jams continues this week with a free show at Thursday In The Square featuring Australian roots/jam band John Butler Trio. I’ve been looking forward to this show ever since the scheduled was announced earlier this summer.

JBT has taken the country by storm with it’s latest album “Grand National” whcih was produced by Mario Caldato Jr. who also produce albums by the Beast Boys, Beck, and Jack Johnson.

Their summer tour has included shows in UK, France, Australia, Germany, and state side at jam fest’s Bonnaroo , Wakarusa, and a show just last month at Redrocks.

Your last chance after Thursday to catch JBT live in the states this summer will be Saturday August 4th at the Newport Folk Festival before they head back down under for a two month tour.

Here’s a sample of JBT playing in Australia. They will also be featured on the Tonight Show on Tuesday night singing “Better Than” so be sure to tune in for that as well.

Exclusive: Yonder Mountain String Band - Buffalo | Review, Pics & Vid

Yesterday was awesome. YMSB came on as the opener this year at 5:45 and gave the Buffalo faithful an hour and a half of intense bluegrass music.

YMSB loves playing this venue and repeatedly told the fans how grateful they were that we came out early and withstood the rain to watch them perform. As usual the crowd was really into the bands high energy bluegrass with everyone dancing and singing along.
I was able to video tape the entire show and I’ve uploaded one of the songs to YouTube. Check it out below.

The pics are a little blury as they came from my iPhone which needs perfect light and to be held perfectly still to get quality pictures.

enjoy!

Sirius to Preview “Grateful Dead Radio” Aug. 1-9

dead.jpg

Sirius announced earlier this summer that they will be creating a radio station dedicated to the Grateful Dead.

The channel will feature live recordings of the bands shows as well as interviews with the band members and others from the scene that started it all. Starting August 1rst you can tune in to Sirius 17 JamOn to hear a preview of what this station will sound like. Regular programming on JamOn will return on August 9th.

If you are into Jam Bands I would highly recommend getting a Sirius subscription. You can get a free three day trial to Sirius Internet Radio by clicking here.

Keller Williams | Live At Redrocks MP3’s & Pics

Keller Williams played Redrocks on Tuesday and from the sounds of the show uploaded to The Archive it was a great set with quite a few awesome covers and a guest appearance by Bob Wier. You can download the entire show on The Archive. I’m looking forward to the Keller Williams Show in Buffalo 2 weeks from today.

Yonder Mountain String Band | Preview & Vid

Just 2 days until Yonder Mountain String Band returns to Thursday In The Square for another great free jam band show.

Last year was the first time I had seen them and was impressed with their high energy set and exceptional song writing. The hippies of Buffalo will be sure to turn out for this one like they did last year to dance the night away.

My sources at Buffalo Place tell me that YMSB will be on from 5:45 to 7pm followed by Old’s 97 from 7:30 to 9:15pm.Here’s a sample of what to expect this Thursday.

Be sure to check back for more video’s from the show, pictures, and a full review.

Grassroots Festival 2007 | Review, Pics, & Videos

I’ve been gone the past week at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, NY which wrapped up it’s 17th year of local and international music acts on Sunday.

The first couple of days camping on the side of the road were fun but it made for a long weekend especially with the rain the first couple of days. It was well worth it though when the gates opened on Thursday we were able to get our best camping spot ever at the edge of the infield stage. The weather cleared by Friday and we had 3 solid days of fun and music in the sun.

Highlights of our weekend included John Browns Body, Keith Frank, The Cat Empire, Bearfoot, and JSan Analouge Sons & of course local favorites and hosts of the festival Donna The Buffalo. 12,000 festival goers attended this weekends event.

Check out the pics as well as a few videos from the weekend that we took below.

enjoy!
