Donna The Buffalo is one of America’s best kept secrets. Natives of Ithaca, NY they have been touring for almost 20 years and host 3 festivals a year, 2 in Shakori Hills and the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival in Trumansbugh, NY.
The Shakori Hills fall festival wrapped up 2 weeks ago and Joe Champion has been kind enough to upload a soundboard recording the band jamming away on the Meadow Stage.

The weather was perfect with three days of sun, blugrass and zydeco music at The Great Blue Heron festival. The first day we saw a couple of great performances by Kelly and The Cowboys, Slo-mo, John & Mary and The Valkyries, and the Sim Redmond Band.
On Saturday there was a drumming workshop with Jim Donovan (of Rusted Root.) About 40 people packed into the tent for 2 hours of a drumming.
Saturday also featured a performance by Big Leg Emma, Entrain, The Avett Brothers, and of course Donna The Buffalo with the last set of the evening.
Here’s a 2 sets for download from the festival from Jim McGee:
